2011 Ceremony - On December 10th, we had another strong showing of our band at this annual service. We were able to debut a number of new songs which were well received. The weather was great with no rain or mist; the crowd was large and respectful with a wide range of ages and backgrounds. We thank the Blue Star Mothers of La. for once again giving us the opportunity to serve the brave fallen men and women of the military.
2010 Ceremony - Baton Rouge Pipes and Drums once again was part of beautiful touching ceremony at National Cemetery on December 11, 2010. Along with the Blue/Gold Star Mothers, Veterans from across Louisiana and the Motorcycle Patriot Guard, we paid homage to our fallen service men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice. We had a large turnout of pipers and drummers (16 in all) and we all were moved beyond words. Fortunately WAFB Channel 9 captured the ceremony and day in a fabulous manner. 2009 Ceremony - Despite the penetrating cold and rain on the morning of December 12th, the Blue Star Mothers of La. were determined to honor the fallen soldiers and sailors of Louisiana at the annual Wreath s Across America ceremony. Throughout the United /States this commemoration is held in mid-December as a way to recognize the sacrifices of our fallen heroes and to comfort their families at this holiday time. The Baton Rouge Pipes and Drums also joins their efforts as we have many veterans, current servicemen and Blue Star members in our ranks.
