Tartan Day Whisky Tasting and Tea 2010

5/11/2010 1:46:25 PM

Tartan Day, April 6th is celebrated each year around the world to commemorate the day Scotland declared its independence - for the first time in 1320.  Here in Baton Rouge, there is no exception and we do know how to throw a grand tasting and tea!  Under the clear crisp skies and ancient live oaks, we enjoyed our drink, friends and music.  Inside we feasted on chicken curry croissants, cool cucumber dill sandwiches, blueberry scones, chocolate covered strawberries, various cheeses and gourmet salads and other goodies.  The tartan tableclothes, bouquets of Louisiana spring wildflowers and antique china added a distintive flair.

We were also graced with the arrival of old friends and shared memories.  We had a fine selection of whisky to sample and state your fancy and let's not forget the teas - classic ones as well as the freshly picked mint tea.  Before long it was dark and we were all sorry to depart.  Don't despair, we will soon gather again.
